Plant Protection Products
The current PPP (plant protection products), including usage for perennial plantations, are mainly based on the application of the chemical composition of a limited amount of pesticides, as when increased adoption of which leads to a number of undesirable sanitary and environmental impacts, in particular soil contamination agrocoenosis and obtaining products with toxic residues. The modern system of plants protection is growing along the path of integration of the various methods and techniques into a single system in order to better ensure the biological and economic efficiency.
Integration of PPP (plant protection products) in such systems should be conducive to a significant reduction in pesticide load on plants for increasing their productivity. It should be noted that the systematic use of persistent, highly toxic pesticides, especially in excessive amounts, adversely affects the natural ecosystems and human health. Pesticides inhibit the biological activity of the soil, destroy agronomical useful microorganisms, and reduce soil fertility. Environmental pollution by pesticides leads to the destruction of beneficial insects, birds, fish and animals. All pesticides are toxic chemicals with wide range of actions, that being in contact with humans and warm-blooded animals, even in very small amounts, can induce disruption of the central nervous system and vital organs. Furthermore, the arsenal of pesticides must continually change for two reasons: firstly, pests and pathogens sufficiently quickly become accustomed to the preparation and after several treatments, it loses its effectiveness, resulting in a “burst” of pests; secondly, synthesized new drugs that are safer for human health and the environment.
To the list of PPP (plant protection products) belong also preparations which contain copper compounds, and which also adversely affect the quality of plant products. For example, despite the use of over 3 billion kg of pesticides per year, pests affect up to 40% yield, with only 0.1% pesticide directly acts to the destination. The remained 99.9% pollute the environment. According to the World Institute of Observations, water contamination by pesticides and fertilizers reaches a critical level around the globe. It fixed about 220 thousand fatal poisoning and another 735 thousand contacts with the chemicals ending chronic diseases at every year. As an alternative approach of total application of chemicals in Europe and around the world, biological agriculture is being implemented, which is safe for humans and the environment in conditions of full rejection of the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, use of local resources, the extrusion of biological plant protection.
We developed a product, Greenodin, based on natural silicon bionanomaterials of a highly complex action, the use of which will not only protect plants from diseases, but also stimulate the growth and development of plant organisms, reduce soil fatigue, intensify agronomical useful microbiota in the soil.
